FAQ
Still have questions? Ask on our Discord server or in our Telegram channel.
Getting started
- Make sure you have permission to use commands. A server administrator can check command permissions under Integrations in the server settings.
- Make sure Use legacy chat input is disabled under Accessibility in your Discord client settings.
Type / in a text channel and select a VK Music Bot command. For /play, enter a track or playlist in the query option, then select the count option to set how many tracks to add.
Try the following:
- Check that the Use Application Commands permission is enabled for the relevant roles or
@everyone. - Check command permissions under VK Music Bot in Integrations in your server settings.

Troubleshooting
Make sure the bot’s volume is no higher than 100% (use /volume). Also make sure bass boost is disabled (use /bass).
Try the following:
- Use /settings show to check that track announcements are enabled.
- Use /check-permissions to check the bot’s permissions in the text channel. If you do not know which channel the bot was started from, set one using /text.
- After checking these settings, use /skip to skip the current track and force the menu to appear.
Check whether the bot has a green ring while a track is playing.
If the green ring appears, the problem is likely outside the bot. Check the following:
- Right-click the bot and check its volume.
- Make sure Mute and Server Deafen are not enabled in that menu.
- Check the output device in your Discord settings.
- Check whether you can hear other people in voice channels and whether they can hear the bot.
If no green ring appears, the problem may be with the bot. This can occasionally happen due to network or Discord server issues.
Try moving the bot to another channel and back, or use /fix. Also make sure you are connected to the voice server: you should see the green Voice Connected label at the bottom.
Settings and permissions
Open Integrations in your server settings, then select the bot. You can configure command permissions there.
Server administrators can always use commands, regardless of these permission settings.
Method 1:
Use /donate or /info and copy the ID from the response.
Method 2:
- Open Discord settings.
- Go to Advanced.
- Enable Developer Mode.
- Right-click your server and choose Copy Server ID.
